Basketball Victoria and  is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people.

Our members, volunteers and employees understand that child safety is everyone’s responsibility and our policies and procedures reflect this commitment.

Basketball Victoria have policies, procedures and codes of conduct in place to help ensure children and young people feel safe, encouraged, and heard.

Our policies align with Sports Integrity Australia and the Victorian Child Safety Standards so that:

  • Safeguarding practices and principles are embedded across all aspects of our sport
  • Staff and volunteers are screened, suitable and have access to education and training to support them in their role
  • Complaints and concerns are taken seriously and addressed in a timely and considered manner.

We have zero tolerance for child abuse or neglect. We are committed to providing a child safe environment where children and young people are safe, feel safe, and their voices are heard.
